The World Sk8ting & Arts School + Academics educational goal is to efficiently disseminate the great unity and joy of learning academics, arts & sports.

Our educational method inspires students to be life learners. Our curriculums explore the timeless cultural impact of classical arts. This expands a person’s capacity to develop artistic interests. We teach clients to learn skills to function & flourish with appreciation and gratefulness. The World Sk8ting & Arts School + Academics disseminates vital tradition by efficiently uniting the arts of calligraphy, drawing, painting, architecture, theatre, music, dance, culinary & classical skating with a student’s academic studies. Students can begin as young as 5 years old and continue throughout their lives.

Our school unites classical arts with classical sports. The sport of skating has a classical language, a technique, and an art. It requires phenomenal skills that can be drawn with the hand or skated with the foot. When a student learns to skate by identifying the classical and modern Figures & Fancy Skating’s shapes of compositional patterns, one learns to grasp complex dynamics. Skating’s dynamic and complex compositions are related to logical thinking, mathematics, and to the rest of our entire classical arts & academic curriculum. In addition to enrolled students achieving accredited academic educational courses, they may also achieve a transcript of arts and sport, recognition with competition, and World Figure Sport’s Skating Exam credits. We welcome students who love skating (Figure, Hockey, Speed). We also welcome those who have not had the opportunity to experience sports or arts in a supportive environment.

The World Figure Sport Society (WFSS), not-for-profit, upholds, protects, and expands the knowledge and competition of classical and modern Figures & Fancy Skating worldwide. Now with the World Sk8ting & Arts School + Academics Virtual Academy, we are an antidote to the fractured and outdated educational model. We love great culture and knowledge and inspire everyone to become a part of our exciting journey of uniting academics, arts & sports. We hope that each one of us can reach our full potential in life and propagate the grace so others can succeed, too.

Mrs. Kelly, Chef de Mission of Education

Mrs. Karen Courtland Kelly, MA, Olympian believes that a person with the grace of perseverance and knowledgeable guidance can develop in balance what she calls the “triumvirate of human achievement by excelling in academics, arts & athletics”. Mrs. Kelly’s academic research explores blockages and biases across broad fields. Thus she can help clients to be more prepared to succeed against the odds in academics, arts, and sports. Life is a work in progress and not everyone fits into the same box. Mrs. Kelly knows from career experience that spans genres across academics, stage, sport, tv, and arts.

Ms. Wagner, Canadian Ambassador

Ms. Barbara Wagner, Olympic Champion, 4x World Champion, North American Champion, 5x Canadian Champion, World Figure & Fancy Skating Hall of Fame, Judge & Skating Educator always feels passionate about learning something new and exciting in sports, arts, and academics. She educates clients in knitting, drawing, painting, and skating. Ms. Wagner strives to pass on the abundance of her grace, interests, and love of artistry and sports to others. She still expands her capacity even now in her 8th decade with perseverance, sportsmanship, gratitude, and positive energy. Ms. Wagner is delighted to be a vital part of the World Sk8ting & Arts School + Academics K-12.

Ms. Dorothy Hamill,
World
Ambassador

Ms. Dorothy Hamill, Olympic Champion, World Champion, US Champion & World Figure & Fancy Skating Hall of Fame, Judge, Honorary Referee & Skating Educator is known for her classically trained technique and “American Sweetheart Personality.” Ms. Hamill radiates joy from her heart when she is on the ice. She knows from experience the juggling difficulties of achieving a healthy schedule in life. Ms. Hamill is thrilled to be a part of the solution and she inspires everyone to excel in their academic, artistic and skating endeavors with the World Sk8ting & Arts School + Academics K-12.

Mr. Kelly, Hockey & Speed Skating Ambassador

Mr. Patrick Kelly, B.Eng, M.B.A., 2x Olympian & Canadian Sprint Champion, is a renaissance gentleman. He is passionate about skating, speed/flight and mechanics. These interests are perfectly melded together for him in mechanical & aerospace engineering. Mr. Kelly’s diverse experience has given him the opportunity to work with planes, submarines, athletes, and skating equipment. He also combines other materials in fields where his knowledge is used to stabilize athletes for speed efficiency and injury prevention (e.g. professional NHL Players and Teams, Figure Skaters, Football Players, Runners et. al.), and also aircraft and submarines. He holds multiple patents and is passionate about educating others so they can become successful both on and off the ice/field of play.

Mrs. Moritz, European Ambassador

Mrs. Bibi Zillmer-Moritz, Olympian, 3x German National Champion, World Figure & Fancy Skating Hall of Fame, Judge & Skating Educator, is a renaissance lady in arts, sports & educating others. She enjoys the process of teaching in a supportive and dynamic environment. Mrs. Moritz educates students to be prepared physically and mentally to succeed in languages, travel, academics, sports, and arts. She is passionate about history, culture, music, and classical fashion. Mrs. Moritz’s worldwide cultural experiences give students a wealth of knowledge so they can achieve more grace and learning in their life. She is also our German language tutor by appointment.

Mrs. Walter, Education Ambassador

Mrs. Alicia Walter, B.S. in Sport & Psychology, and 5x World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships’ Chief Referee, is an experienced Skating and Arts Educator for forty years. She is known for nurturing people’s potential without being limited by societal biases. Mrs. Walter stresses that everyone should be inspired to learn and create at every age and level in a calm and nurturing environment. Her teaching style includes a development approach with patience and focus to achieve attainable goals that foster life skills and confidence.

Miss Monica Trummer, Art Ambassador & Educator

Miss Monica Trummer is an artist and instructor in the fine art mediums of music, drawing, and painting. She is passionate about creating beauty. Miss Trummer believes that a paint brush, pen, pencil, or bit of charcoal is merely a door to awakening a life filled with grace and fulfillment. She has found joy in constantly developing her artistic abilities and inspiring others. Miss Trummer is delighted to have the opportunity to help students of all ages to expand their abilities as the World Sk8ting & Arts School’s Art Ambassador & Educator.

Hannah McCormick, DVM, Fiber Arts’ Ambassador & Educator

Dr. Hannah is a doctor of veterinary medicine. She is also a passionate knitting artist and being a trained surgeon - boy can she knit! She loves teaching and sharing her skills in veterinary medicine and the fiber arts. When Dr. Hannah is between appointments or traveling, one can find her knitting. She travels with her medical and knitting bags everywhere. Dr. Hannah is fascinated with textiles along with their function and tactile experience. She teaches students of all ages to be patient with training the patterning of one’s hands (the internal and external loops) that create the beautiful knit and purl stitches. She knows the satisfaction of learning a new skill especially with the endless challenge and creativity of knitting. Dr. Hannah is delighted to be the World Sk8ting & Arts School’s Fiber Arts’ Ambassador & Educator.

Mrs. Miller, Skating Educator & Archives Team

Mrs. Robin Miller is in her 4th decade as a Skating Educator. She also has experience as a “Project Success Coordinator” for 18 years for High School students. Mrs. Miller is a World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships’ Referee. Since 2015, she has officiated as a member of World Figure Sport’s Welcoming Team, Judge, and Archives. She feels that learning is a lifelong journey. Through sports, arts, and academics information can be introduced in unique opportunities allowing for growth of the whole person. Mrs. Miller believes that, “the goal of the journey is to educate students to enjoy the process of striving to achieve their potential both mentally and physically in life.”

Dr. Bennett, PhD, Academic Success Team & Ambassador

Professor Mandy Bennett holds a doctorate in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and has taught high school students, community, state, and ivy league college students. She educates students from an holistic teaching philosophy and explains difficult concepts within everyday life scenarios. Professor Bennett is friendly and a valuable resource for both parents and students who are navigating their current and future academic development in chemistry, forensics and other scientific fields. She strives to inspire her students and to bring out their full academic potential. Professor Bennett is available by appointment for tutoring.
